Pet loss support

No matter the circumstances, losing a pet can be incredibly difficult and can have a big impact on our lives. It is normal to grieve, our pets are an important part of our families.

It is normal to feel a range of emotions. Talk to people who can support you.  Many of us have lost pets and understand how difficult it can be.

Find a way to honor your pet's memory.

  • Plant a tree or flower that you can watch bloom

  • Create a memory box - fill it with photos, toys, kids drawings

  • Send us a photo or story and we can share it as a memory on our socials

  • Make a donation to an animal charity in your pet's name

  • Have a special keepsake made

Ask us for our full list of ideas

Don't be afraid to seek help if your grief becomes overwhelming.

Many resources and support options are readily available.

The Blue Cross offers a complimentary pet bereavement support service, accessible in Ireland via email and web chat. They also provide various resources, including guidance on helping children cope with pet loss.
